Standard Air Wipe

This hard-hitting 360° ring of airflow is the economical way to blowoff, dry, clean and cool.

EXAIR’s Standard Air Wipe provides a uniform 360° airstream that is ideal for blowoff, drying, cleaning and cooling of pipe, cable, extruded shapes, hose, wire and more. The split design offers easy clamping around the surface of the material moving through it, eliminating the need for threading. All models include painted screws and plastic shims. Reinforced rubber hose is also included on sizes up to 4" (102mm) for added corrosion and heat resistance. Standard Air Wipe models are rated for temperatures up to 150°F (66°C) .

The Standard Air Wipe is an economic choice when the added properties of stainless steel are not required. The Standard Air Wipe is generally suited to non-corrosive applications where temperatures do not exceed 150°F (66°C).The Standard Air Wipe includes painted screws, plastic shims & a general purpose PVC coupling air hose on sizes up to 4”(102 mm).It meets OSHA maximum dead end pressure & noise requirements.

Full-Flow Air Knife

EXAIR’s Full-Flow Air Knife is a cheapest & energy competent way to clean, dry or cool parts, webs or conveyors. Full-Flow Air knives operate by entraining the surrounding air along with the compressed air utilizing the “Coanda” effect to produce high flow, high velocity curtain of air. Air Knives are designed for 24/7 use, have smooth edges and shims for easier cleaning, can be precisely adjusted without tools for faster change-over’s and are custom sized for your application. The Full-Flow feature provides air flow across the entire length. The Full-Flow Air Knife has the compressed air inlet on the rear. It is available in either aluminium or stainless steel construction.

Shim Sets

A Full-Flow Air Knife has a .002" (.05mm) gap setting. This gap is set with a shim positioned between the cap and the body of the Full-Flow Air Knife. Force and flow through the Full-Flow Air Knife may be easily increased by adding shims to open the gap. Kits include a shim set. Shim sets for aluminum Full-Flow Air Knives include a .001" (0.03mm), .003" (0.08mm) and .004" (0.10mm) thick plastic shim. Shim sets for stainless steel Air Full-Flow Knives include (1) .002" (0.05mm) thick stainless steel shim.

CE Compliant Air Amplifier

EXAIR’s Super Air Amplifiers and Adjustable Air Amplifiers have always provided a fast, quiet, efficient way to move large volumes of air for the transport of smoke, fumes, or light materials as well as for venting, cooling, drying and cleaning. Now, independent laboratory tests certify that EXAIR’s Air Amplifiers meet the rigorous safety, health, and environmental standards of the European Union in order to attain the CE mark.

Using no electricity or moving parts, EXAIR’s Air Amplifiers are able to transform a small amount ofcompressed air into a high volume, high velocity output that is up to 25 times their consumption rate.  The patented design maintains a constant, high velocity outlet flow across the entire cross sectional area. Output is easily adjusted and both the vacuum and discharge ends can be ducted. Air Amplifiers are available in stock in both aluminum and corrosion resistant stainless steel.

CE Compliant Control Minimizes Compressed Air Use

EXAIR’s digital ETC (Electronic Temperature Control) Cabinet Cooler System keeps electrical enclosures cool while minimizing compressed air use. Independent laboratory tests now certify that the ETC™ is CE compliant to assure safe operation in a wide range of cooling applications, allowing it to work perfectly with our CE compliant Cabinet Cooler units.

The ETC accurately maintains a constant temperature in the electrical enclosure that is slightly under the maximum rating of the electronics. It permits just enough cooling for the electronics without going so cold as to waste compressed air. A digital LED readout displays the temperature of the electrical enclosure (°F or °C), then displays the user temperature setting when pressing the “push to set” button. When that setting is exceeded, the Cabinet Cooler System is activated which circulates 20°F air throughout the electrical enclosure to prevent a high temperature malfunction.

The ETC is suitable for NEMA 4, 4X and 12 environments with a strong polycarbonate plastic housing and sealed membrane push button control. All systems include an automatic drain filter separator to keep moisture in the compressed air out of the electrical enclosure. Models for 120 VAC or 240 VAC are available with cooling capacities up to 2800 Btu/hr. Applications include cooling programmable controllers, CNC panels, computer cabinets, and variable speed drives.

USB Data Logger Available for Digital Flowmeter

EXAIR’s Digital Flowmeter provides an excellent way to monitor compressed air consumption and waste. Now, with the addition of EXAIR’s new USB Data Logger, you can also maintain a history of the Digital Flowmeter’s measurements for analysis.Use the included software to configure the Data Logger to record your flow rate. Record from once a second (about nine hours of data) up to once every 12 hours (over 2 years!).

Regular monitoring of compressed air usage makes it possible for companies to save thousands of dollars per year in compressed air waste by identifying costly leaks or inefficient air products. When the Data Logger is removed from the Digital Flowmeter and plugged into a computer, the data can be viewed in the included software or exported directly into Microsoft Excel®. This allows you to track flow rate easily on your computer.

The Data Logger is available pre-installed on the Digital Flowmeter.Summing Remote Displays, that make it easy to monitor compressed air consumption from a convenient location, are also available.

CE Compliant Air Nozzles Increase Efficiency

EXAIR’s family of Air Nozzles-- from the tiny new Model 1108SS Atto Super Air Nozzle at 2.0 ounces (56.7 grams) of blowing force to the high powerModel 1120 Large Super Air Nozzle at 23 pounds (10.4 kg) of strong blowoff force -- have always provided safe, economical performance. Independent laboratory tests now certify that EXAIR’s entire Air Nozzle family hasalso met the rigorous safety, health, and environmental standards of the European Union in order to attain the CE mark.

By entraining high volumes of room air, EXAIR’s Super Air Nozzles use less compressed air and less energy to provide superior performance to other blowoff products. Unlike open pipe and nozzles that haven’t been optimized, none of EXAIR’s large selection of Super Air Nozzles can be blocked, meeting OSHA’s standard for dead-end pressure 29 CFR 1910.242(b). All of EXAIR’s Super Air Nozzles also fall within OSHA’s noise requirement 29 CFR 1910.95(a).

Cold Gun Increases Tool Life

Cold Gun Increases Tool Life

A Company manufactures intricate machined parts for the automotive, motorcycle and aerospace industries. One of their machinists had a frequent problem rough-milling pocket in type 410 stainless steel when using a two flute 3/8" carbide cutter on their Okuma vertical machining center. Coolant produced thermal shock, resulting in micro cracking of the carbide inserts. Without coolant, thermal cracking of the inserts was almost immediate. They were constantly changing inserts.

The company installed a Model 5215 Cold Gun System. The 20°F cold air kept the inserts cool and allowed all the heat to be carried away on the chips. Tool life increased by 50%.

The Cold Gun incorporates a vortex tube to convert an ordinary supply of compressed air into two low pressure streams, one hot and one cold. The hot airstream is muffled and discharged through the hot air exhaust.  The cold air is muffled and discharged through the flexible hose, which directs it to the point of use.  The magnetic base provides easy mounting and portability.
Heat buildup can ruin expensive tooling as well as the part being machined. In this situation, it would have been easy to constantly ruin a Rs.9000 cutter. When asked how others solve this problem, the machinists replied, "We've seen companies go so far as to defeat the safety interlocks so the machine runs with the doors open - just to blow a little compressed air at the part to cool it. For us, the Cold Gun keeps the tooling cool and allows us to immediately handle the part since the heat blows away with the chips.
